Bernier, MacKinnon pace Avs past StarsOfficial game recap Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche.

Jonathan Bernier made 28 saves for his first shutout of the season and15th in the NHL, and the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Dallas Stars 3-0 at Pepsi Center on Wednesday.

Nathan MacKinnon had three assists, giving him 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) in the past 10 games.

Erik Johnson, Nail Yakupov and Gabriel Landeskog scored for the Avalanche (11-8-1), who have won two in a row.

Ben Bishop had 29 saves for the Stars (11-10-1), who have lost five consecutive road games (0-4-1).

Landeskog scored at 1:11 of the third period to put Colorado ahead 3-0. MacKinnon passed to Mikko Rantanen behind the net, and he fed Landeskog in the slot for his ninth goal.

The Avalanche took a 2-0 lead on second-period goals from Yakupov and Johnson.

Yakupov scored from the top of the circles, beating Bishop to the glove side with 0.2 seconds remaining after MacKinnon won a faceoff in the left circle. A video review confirmed the puck crossed the goal line in time.

The goal was Yakupov's seventh and gave him 10 points in 20 games. He had three goals and nine points in 40 games last season with the St. Louis Blues.

Johnson gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead at 3:02. MacKinnon passed to Johnson on the right side and he found an opening between Bishop's pads from a sharp angle for his second goal.

Johnson has a goal in two consecutive games after going the first 18 without one.
