Member story: Dominik from CzechiaIn its 10th season, Eurolanche introduces its members thru the regular weekly series "Member stories".

Dominik has been an ice hockey fan for a long time. Considering his age – 14 years – he is hands down the youngest member of the editorial group of He hasn’t always been a fan of the Colorado Avalanche. Having been twice to the US, although sadly not in Colorado but in hostile Detroit, he originally became a fan of the Detroit Red Wings. But as the time went by, Dominik became wiser and became an Avs fan. He’s been an Avalanche fan ever since. Eventually, he became sort of a „ ground hopper”, visiting the vast majority of NHL stadiums, mostly on the East Coast.

Dominik loves to watch Colorado games live, which is sadly not understood by most of his friends and family. He’s sometimes called names for waking up at 3 a.m. local time and watching the NHL. „All this is part of what entertains me,” says Dominik. He’s also very touchy about watching an Avalanche game on an opposing team’s channel. If he watches games, then it’s exclusively on Altitude Sports. “The color commentator of Avalanche games is my favorite, not only because he provides commentary of Avs hockey, but also because of his unique voice. He seems to be very likeable too.

Ice hockey is very popular sport in the Czech Republic. On the other hand, there isn’t much of a chance of bumping into someone in the streets with an Avalanche jersey. The Czech national team is not what it used to be a few years back. Sure, it was something totally different back then, but Dominik wasn’t part of it yet. Nevertheless, he is very familiar with the history of hockey. The majority of Czech people are fans of teams like Chicago or Pittsburgh, which are teams Dominik doesn’t like at all.

Dominik agreed with Eurolanche on being an editor in response to an offer from Eurolanche President David Púchovský. “I like to write game recaps and columns the most,” adds Dominik.

Among his the most favorite players is current team captain Gabriel Landeskog. He likes his style of play. He also likes Alex Tanguay and Milan Hejduk.

Dominik can’t wait to be part of his first Invasion. “It’s going to be very big for me and I’m really looking forward to be a part of this project. It will be an honor, but it’s still in the distant future,” he ends., Worldwide,
