David´s column on the last game

David´s column on the last gameA brief recap and a criticism of the Colorado Avalanche game against Edmonton Oilers.

If the game against the Oilers continued for the next days, Avs would have never won. All hockey fans know this kinds of games – you team does everything for the win, had a goal scoring chances, but simply nothing works. Avalanche players were unlucky, their opponent lucky. I am happy for their effort. No more frustration, no more depression. It was a hard hockey game. Maybe it could end differently if Hejda´s goal would not be waived. Also I do not remember if I have ever seen the waiving of the goal due the staying of the player in the crease. Has not been this rule canceled after controversial goal to Hasek´s net in later 90s? Does not matter. I think they still would not win it. They showed us nice passes, huge pressure, but when always it seemed they were going to score, the puck was tipped by some invisible power. It was like the game against Winnipeg of the previous Invasion IV. Also then the Avs were in great shape, won 5 of 6 games in front of us, but could not beat a Canadian team.

The delay of the publishing this regular column was caused our travel from Denver to Minnesota immediately after last game. It lasted 14 hours in the car.
