Parise in Denver: Is it even possible?

Parise in Denver: Is it even possible?Read the reasons why Zach Parise could and could not come to the Colorado Avalanche for the next season.

DON´T MISS:

Zach Parise´s rights were traded to Denver! That was a title of yesterday´s rumor – one of the biggest over the last years, not only the last season. Great offensive player and leader have should agreed on the new deal verbally. Both sides will confirm it after 1st July. But is this rumor even realistic?

Reason 1: Avalanche owner does not probably want to spend much money on the market

It was said earlier the owner does not want it. Josh Kroenke mentioned the money issue weeks ago in the interview for Denver Post. If he really was talking about saving money, it would not be nothing new – the whole organization have not spent huge amounts for the last years. The Avs had the lowest payroll in the entire NHL in the last season. Plus the team focuses on the own prospects – they appreciate players from own system than from other teams. So why they would decided to pay a guy from New Jersey for big money?

Reason 2: Parise wants to play in the winning team

Zach Parise is great player and captain, but he is a man like we are – he just wants to be winner all the time. In spite of the great season for Devils, it does not look they will repeat their road to the Finals again. The team is missing something. Parise knows he will be there only a leader, not winning leader. But why he would join the team which did not clinch playoffs in the last two seasons? Maybe he believes in the still young developing players and is sure they could have solid season in the next year. But this is not good argument.

Reason 3: There is no realistic way why the Devils want to get Giguere

As we know according to the rumor New Jersey have should got Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Chuck Kobasew and couple of drafts. Devils have one of the best goalies in the NHL. Yeah, he is not anymore what he was in the past, but he is still good. I do not understand why their management would want to get another veteran goalie who will retire within few years. It is not common to have so old goalies on the roster. Maybe they are feeling Martin Broduer will not have good season and they want to be sure they will still have some good and experienced goaltender for all cases. But this investment is only for few years, Parise´s departure will have impact on the next decade. Reason 3 is also negative for the Avs fans, but it is close. Managers do crazy decisions and trades.

Reason 4: Parise is good friend with Stastny and Johnson

Parise spent a lot of time with Stastny and Johnson in some of the national camp in the past. As we heard it earlier they should have good relationship between them. This is the important factor of all trades. Sometimes it does not matter where the player is going, more important are relations with the management, coaches or players. Nothing is better than good, relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the organization. I read the story about the ceremony night in Las Vegas. Parise was invited there as a captain of the team by nominee Adam Henrique. He refused it and stayed home. Is not this an evidence of some problems in the locker room? Or is this just the coincidence? It does not matter much, because the fact is the good friendships open doors everywhere.

Reason 5: Parise believed in the Avs as we, management and experts, but is patient too

I wrote about this point a little at the top of this article. Avalanche had had the hard times. They did not make playoffs for two years in a row. According to some of the first predictions, their chance to win the Stanley Cup in the next year is ranged from 1/40 to 1/50. In spite of it there are many experts who say the Avs will become the winning team again within couple of seasons. They have young talented team with prospects at the each position. It is a matter of the time. If Parise understand it and will be patient, it is a deal. He also should know his arrival to Denver will raise the chance of the Avs for the Cup.

Reason 6: The mystery of the free agent market

Avs have still plenty of restricted free agents. If they want to keep them, they should sign them soon. There are mainly Matt Duchene, Ryan O´Reilly, Peter Mueller, Steve Downie and Jamie McGinn. Duchene and O´Reilly will get new contracts on million percent. With them the team has six top forwards (+Stastny, Jones, Landeskog, Hejduk). There has left three free places in the first three offensive lines. If Parise would join the team, somebody from the trio Muller – Downie – McGinn have to leave. It is not something special or shocking. But there is more interesting point: Jay McClement. Solid player did not sign the new contract with the team and will not stay there. All fans asked themselves why it happened. McClement had very good season and was the important part of penalty kills. But if the management was preparing place for Parise, McClement´s financial conditions did not fit in the future plans – plans how to get Parise in Denver.

3:3 – I decided to give a point to “Parise will come to Denver” because the market with free agents is always great show where always surprised you every year. Everything could happen and nobody will stop it.

The title of this article is asking you and also me something. I could now answer: Yes, it is possible Parise will come to Denver. People usually do not like unexpected trades because they did not expect it. They do not want to be surprised by the controversial team decision. But as I wrote we could not stop it.

Somebody has started this rumor and we inform you about it. Look what happened. Articles, stories, analysis and hundreds of comment were published on this topic. You have shared opinions with all fans and have had great time of the hockey in spite there has been not Avalanche hockey for more than two months. And this I like on the NHL.
