Hejda starts to be impatient

Hejda starts to be impatientA defenseman of the Colorado Avalanche is preparing for departure to Europe.

Jan Hejda said many times exclusively to Eurolanche he will wait for November to see how the situation with the lockout might end. The lockout started exactly one month ago. The regular season was supposed to be underway now. We are entering “only” the second part of October, but Hejda is starting to be a little impatient. “I am little starting to lose patience. I guess I will call to my agent next week to find out more,” he said to www.eurolanche.com.

Hejda told us about his further plans days ago, so he should know more at the present and have already had a call with the agent behind him. We could speculate what his previous quotes mean. Actually, the situation between NHL and NHLPA does not look good; there is no progress. The new deal is still far away. The possible late-December start is more and more unrealistic.

As Hejda said recently, he will maybe play for the HC Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic. If he would play back in Czech, Prague is his only option. He had started his career there. He has not mentioned any other European teams, but nothing is excluded. Eurolanche will keep you informed. Additionally, his country man, Milan Hejduk, said he will not play anywhere and will stay in Denver with his family during the lockout.

For now, three Colorado Avalanche players have joined the European teams for the lockout period. Matt Duchene (Frolunda) and Gabriel Landeskog (Djurgarden of the 2-tier league) are now in Sweden, and Semyon Varlamov plays for KHL´s Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
